WHAT IS A NURSE PRACTITIONER?


Tamera Thoener, FNP-C


Tamera Thoener is a honors graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Master of Science in Nursing where she earned her RN and Family Nurse Practitioner certifications. She enjoys helping her patients through an integrated medical model and believes in the whole health of the body both physically, nutritionally and mentally. One of her specialties being Dermatology, she is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and licensed to practice in the states of Tennessee and Oregon.  She is an active member of the AANP, UCAOA (Urgent Care Assoc of America), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and MTAPN (Middle TN Advanced Practice Nurses).  She also holds a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree with a minor in Music performance from Belmont University.  Tamera is originally from Texas, but has called Nashville her home for the past 25 years.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to try new restaurants with her husband David.  Her favorite past time is vacationing in Maui, Hawaii. She further enjoys watching movies, hiking in the Percy Warner parks and spending time with her animals. The Thoener family actively foster animals for the local volunteer pet rescue in Bellevue, TN; Proverbs 12:10.
