A good sign that you may have plantar fasciitis, one of the most common forms of heel pain, is if you have tightness and pain in your heel and foot first thing in the morning. Pronounced PLAN-tar fash-e-EYE-tus, named after the ligament that becomes inflamed (plantar fascia), this condition is caused when repeated strains occur on the ligament that supports the arch of the foot.
